JESSORE: A local Awami League leader and a transport worker were shot by miscreants in Taltola area on Dhaka-Jessore road in the district on Sunday.

The injured are Nazrul Islam, 52, Ward 1 Awami League general secretary so president of district's tire traders' association and Ripon, 28, a BRTC counter worker.

Officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali model thana Emdadul Haque told banglanews: "the gang led by Fingye Landsberg shot them near Taltola area and they were code to Jessore Medical College Hospital."
