Pakistan - death toll reaches 37

DHAKA: Twin blasts near the Qissa Khawani market in Peshawar on Sunday, 37 people killed and at least 103 others wounded.

The explosion killed at least 37 people, the top local administration official s Muhammad Anis said, dradio.de, reported.

Dr Arshad Javaid, a senior civil servant Lady reading hospital, confirmed that the toll and said at least 103 people injured.

The blasts, at 11 in the morning, set shops and surrounding vehicles in fire took place. At least 50 shops were either damaged or completely destroyed.

The first explosion was relatively small, and has been compared to a hand grenade. The second was much stronger and larger damage.

According to AIG bomb disposal unit Shafkat Malik were 200 kg explosive value in a car parked in the vicinity of the market uses. He added that the explosion by remote control occurred.

"In fact, the whole car that had been parked on the side of the road, a remote-controlled bomb, built around" he said.

Provincial information Minister Shaukat Yusufzai said that the main objective of the two attacks was at the police station in Peshawar. Local police officers but don't think that the police station was the target of the blasts.

"Police station does not affect the target to be, as it was attack of the sites," said bomb disposal Chief Shafqat Malik. He added that "it looks like the market was the target".

There was terror were among the people in the area who help each other out.
